Laos Adventure
Day 1, Bangkok - Nong Khai (-/-/-)
Evening departure from Bangkok to Nong Khai by overnight train with 2nd class
air-conditioned sleeping berths. Pick-up from hotel lobby will be at
approximately 18.00 and train departure at approximately 20.45. Dining
facilities are available on board.
Day 2, Nong Khai Vientiane (-/-/D)
Arrive Nong Khai at approximately 08.00. Own transfer by taxi to Mittaphap
(Friendship) Bridge (approximately US$2.00). Take the shuttle bus across the
bridge to the Lao Immigration and Customs post where clients will be met by our
local representative. Transfer to Vientiane and check in to hotel. In the
afternoon take a tour of the city and its temples, visiting Wat Pra That Luang,
Wat Si Saket, Wat Pra Kaeo, and Anousavari (Patuxai, so called LArc de Triumphe).
Day 3, Vientiane Vang Vieng. (B/L/D)
Morning departure by road to Vang Vieng, a small remote town nestled along a
scenic bend in Nam Song River. Stop en route at the archeological sight of Vang
Xang dating back from the 11th century. Upon arrival cross the river for a short
trek through the breathtaking mountain landscape to Tam None cave and some hill
villages. Today ends with a spectacular view of the sunset over the Nam Song
River.
Day 4, Vang Vieng Trekking (B/L/D)
After breakfast visit the surrounding area and explore the beautiful limestone
formations, the mysterious caves and cavern including the legendary cave of Tham
Chang, the Ban Nam Ka village, the Tai Deang and the Souay hill tribe people.
Day 5, Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang (B/L/D)
Early morning drive to Luang Prabang. The road conditions are very pool however
this is subsidized by the unequalled scenery with a mixture of steep terraced
fields and hill tribe. On arrival in Luang Prabang visit the impressive stupa of
Wat Visoun, the shirne of Wat Aham and Phousi Hill for the impressive sunset
view of the gilded stupa and Luang Prabang town.
Day 6, Luang Prabang Pak Ou Luang Prabang (B/L/D)
In the morning visit the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong followed by an excursion by
boat on the Mekong River through the tranquil countryside to the holy caves of
Pak-Ou. Stop en route at the village of Ban Xang Hai famous for the local rice
wine. On the way back visit the Thai Lu weaving village of Ban Phanom.
Day 7, Luang Prabang (B/L/-)
After breakfast visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace which
displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao
cultural dating from period of early kings through the last sovereign, plus a
stop at the lively central market. At leisure until time for transfer to the
airport for the next destination.

How to travel from Nong Khai Railway Station to Laos border
Upon arrival at Nong Khai Railway Station at approximately 08.00 take a Tuk-Tuk
to the Friendship Bridge. The 4-km ride will cost Bht.20-30 and you will be
dropped a short walk from the Thai immigration and customs post which opens at
08:00. After completing exit formalities take the shuttle bus across the bridge.
The bus costs Bht.15 (Bht.20 on Sundays) and will stop by the Lao immigration
and customs post where your guide will be waiting to greet you.
An entry tax of Bht.20 is payable to the Lao immigration officials and
occasionally a further Bht.20 is requested by the customs officers.

Visa Information
For Vietnam and Laos
All visitors to these countries must be in possession of an entry visa. At the
time of booking please forward to us the following information for visa
application :
1. Full name
2. Date and place of birth
3. Nationality (original and present)
4. Permanent address
5. Occupation
6. Passport number, date and place of issue, date of expiry
7. Where visa to be issued if other than Bangkok.
We will submit this information to the relevant authorities and notify
participants as soon as visa approval has been granted.
If visas are to be issued in Bangkok participants must upon their arrival
provide their passports, two completed visa application forms and two
passport-sized photographs for each country to be visited,
Please allow at
least two full working days for each visa.
All necessary forms may be obtained from our Bangkok Office. Because of these
visa application procedures we regret that bookings for Vietnam and Laos cannot
be accepted less than 10 working days prior to commencement of the required
tour.
If visas are to be issued somewhere other than Bangkok please check with the
relevant embassy to ensure there is sufficient time to complete all formalities.
