Day 01 Upon arrival, meet and transfer to Hotel Shangri-La. PM – Birdwatching. Overnight at Hotel Shangri-La.  (03 stars hotel) ** no meals

Day 02 Pick up from the hotel and drive approximately 2 hours overland (88 km) through paddy-fields and Dusun villages over the ridges of the Crocker Range to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu at 5,000ft, to arrive at the park headquarters at Kundasang. Explore the many trails around the park HQ. Early evening birdwatching along one of the trails. Overnight at a twin bed cabin or similar. (BL)

Day 03 Wake p to the sounds of the Kinabalu Dawn chorus. Early morning and afternoon birdwatching. Overnight at a twin bed cabin or similar. (BL)

Day 04 Bird walk before breakfast and then trek up the mountain in search of the friendly Kinablu Warbler. Overnight at a twin bed cabin or similar. (BL)

Day 05 Early morning birdwalk before transfer to Poring Hot Springs. Birdwatching from canopy walkway before transfer overland to Sandakan. Overnight at Sepilok Jungle Resort. (BL)

Day 06 After breakfast, meet and transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Trek ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden plank walks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 10am and video show. Continue to Sandakan jetty for boat journey to Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah's longest river, Kinabatangan with opportunity to view birds and wildlife in virgin mangrove, wetland and rainforest habitats. Late afternoon take a river cruise using electric motor in search of some of the 10 primate species including Proboscis monkeys as they settle down on treetops along the Kinabatangan River. Return for solar heated hot shower, candle light dinner and slide show conducted by naturalist guide. Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge. (BLD)

Day 07 Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. A 6.00 am morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to view more birds and wildlife. Proceed to the Kelenanap ox-bow lake for a short jungle walk (if weather permits). Experience the wilderness of Borneo. In the afternoon, proceed overland to Gomantong Caves. Trek 20 minutes through the rainforest to the cave entrance. Your guide will brief you on the cave faunas including bats, swiftlets and crabs among others and their contribution to maintaining a balanced ecology and significance to the local economy. When in season, witness the collecting of birds' nests by the local people using bamboo ladders and poles. In the late afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife (if time permits). Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge. (BLD)

Day 08 Another A 6.00 am morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to view more birds and wildlife. You have the option to participate in our Kinabatangan Wildlife Corridor Regeneration Programme (KWICORP) by planting trees at our 64 acres adopted land. In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife. After dinner an optional (at a surcharge) night safari cruise spotting nocturnal animals, crocodiles and birds. Day 09 After breakfast, return to Sandakan by boat journey. Lunch at Sandakan before proceeding for a short tour of Sandakan town and The Australian War Memorial. Transfer to airport for departure flight MH2047 at 1640hrs to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport, meet and transfer to Hotel Shangri-La. (BL) ( 03 stars hotel)

Day 10 After breakfast, meet and transfer to Kota Kinabalu Airport for departure flight. (B)
