Re; Annapurna Base Camp and Ghasa Trek

Dear Jane,

Thanks for an other amazing trip to Nepal. The birding and trekking was again first class, as yet have not finalized my bird list but its in the region of 250 species. Your Guide Lapak Sherpa and Porter Laxman were excellent. Also glad to report that Nepal seems to have regained that old feel good factor and the tensions felt on recent visits seem to have disappeared. The Samsara resort in Kathmandu is simply fantastic and an Oasis in Kathmandu.

Thanks again until next time

Steve

Dear Jane Augustin

Just reporting on the trip to Nepal for myself and Elizabeth from 1 to 21 April.

Field service, office service and tour evaluation were all excellent. We very much liked the Mountain Club people, and got on especially well with Ramesh and BN Dakhal.

Elizabeth found her hike from Namobuddha to Balthali exacting, but enjoyed her part of the trip. I greatly enjoyed my part of the trip (a trek in the Annapurna Ranges), and much appreciated the services of Ramesh, Passan the chef and the porters.

The following are not criticisms, only suggestions. My part of the trip was badly affected by weather (only one completely fine day out of 11 days trekking; on the other ten days we had only sunny periods). We had to change much of the route because of snow ahead. I noticed luxuriant moss on trees everywhere, and it might we worth warning people who plan to trek in the Annapurna region of the risk of wet weather. But high rainfall brings its compensations, and the rhododendrons and scenery were wonderful.

The whole trip was well worth while. Thanks very much for your help.

Dear Jane,
First and foremost Phill and I wanted to write to thank you for such an incredible trek.  We had a great time and managed to make it to Everest Base Camp, up Kala Pattar and to the top of Gokyo Ri.  Our guide Dipak was excellent and the people at the mountain club very friendly and helpful.  We shall not forget it and are very grateful for your help in the lead up to it.  Incidentally we did get caught up in a protest on our first day there accidentally but managed to escape back to the hotel in safety just in time so all was well in the end!

All the best,
Janie and Phill

Excellent all round.

Everest Base Camp Trek
Despite the trek being very physically demanding, Dawa was very supportive throughout, with a sensitive approach to amending the trek itinerary. Combined with knowledge and good humour the Adventure was every bit a success.

Hi Jane,
I got back on Monday, so only just returned to the land of the living! Thanks so much for organising everything for us. We had a wonderful time, and managed to raise about 12 thousand for charity which is brilliant!
Will certainly use Footprints again if I ever get enough energy to do any more trekking!

Cheers
Priya

Dear Jane,
Having just returned from Nepal, I would just like to let you know I had another fantastic time with Footprint. The birding portion of this trip was truly amazing with some 340 species recorded during the 24 days trip. Also your guides and organization was outstanding and despite the difficult political situation in Nepal with it's many strikes we only suffered a few minor delays. The trek to Gokyo and Klapatthar was truly a wonderful experience. The views of Everest outstanding and another 41 species of birds.

Thanks again and I will be back.

Langtang Trek

This trek was excellent in every way. Arrangements for for our trek to commence on time were exceptionally and commenced on time despite a bus strike. We even meet up with our tour leader from our 99 Annapurna Circuit trek. Raj was very good and looked after us well on the trek. Tsergo Ri has a magnificent 360 panorama of white peaks and is well worth the climb.
Thank you Jane for arranging this excellent trekas well as arranging our stay in Bangkok and Cambodia - also excellent in every way with good trip and guide.

Thank you Andrew and Jackie Terrett

Dear Jane,

The whole experience in Nepal was wonderful. BN was kind and very helpful. Our Sherpa Guide Nuru was magnificent and I would highly recommend him to guide any group. He was careful, considerate, funny, knowledgeable, strong, kind and everything. He helped us to feel secure and happy in a new environment. He had great character and good sense of understanding and humor.
I could go on, but I'm sure you understand...

Overall, everything was excellent Jane. From communication with you to meeting Nuru in Nepal, the whole experience has been a good one and when the time comes I will use you again..

Thanks Jane

Stuart Baker-Brown.

Very well organized and efficient. General Manager very helpful in our requests, went out of the way to ensure everything on the trip went well for us. Would not hesitate in recommending this trip through this company to friends.

Jane,

Just a quick note to say thank you for arranging another excellent trip to Nepal for me & this time Bo. The trek was spectacular & the guides and
agents were as friendly & reliable as last year. It may take me a while to recover before going to Nepal again, but even if it is somewhere else for the next couple of years then I will certainly consider Footprint again.

Thanks

Jon

Jane - just a quickie to let you know that the trip was fantastic. the service by Deepak and his guide and porter was faultless. we managed to get ahead of schedule and so fitted in the Cho La Pass and Gokyo which were 2 major bonuses. am thinking about my next trip now. How are you guys fixed up in South America? I'd like to do a 2/3 weeker next year somewhere there that's tough but no too popular - bit off the beaten track.

Many thanks
Clare Bowyer

 Jane,

I have to tell you that William and I had a marvellous time in Nepal!! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience: Your organisation was excellent in every respect and we were looked after very well at every stage. Dipak Dhamala made sure that we knew exactly what was arranged and could not be faulted. Raj, who was our guide on the trek, was also excellent. His command of English was very good, as was his knowledge of the area and control of the trekking party. He also assessed our capabilities and adjusted the day's walking to ensure that we all continued to enjoy ourselves. The guides/porters could never do enough for us.

Of course, you know that the scenery is breath-taking and I found the people along the way delightful. Nepal is a wonderful country.

Best Wishes

Mike Hulf

Dear Jane

Just a brief line to let you know we are back after our Trek. We had an absolutely brilliant time on the Jomson Trek with wonderful weather and superb views. Everything ran completely to plan, and as you know, in Nepal it can so easily go wrong. We were very impressed with Qatar Airways - especially not having to spend 10 hours on the floor in Delhi Airport!!!

Can you let me have a copy of your latest brochure when its available as I am already looking forward to the next trip although it might not be until 2001, still you can dream. I would quite like to visit Thailand next time round and would be interested in working out a similar 3 week itinerary if possible.

Many thanks for all your help and very smooth and efficient handling of our holiday arrangements.
