Mulu Caves Safari (3 days) ex-Mulu
Day 1
Arrive Mulu, meet and transfer to resort for
check-in. After lunch, transfer by van to Park HQ for registration. Trek 45
minutes on raised plankwalk through lowland rainforest and peat swamp to Lang
caves. View the various limestone formations of stalactites and stalagmites.
Walk inside the largest cave passage of Deer cave to the Garden of Eden.
Witness the daily exodus of thousands of bats at sunset before we return.

Day 2
Transfer 45 minutes by longboat up Melinau River
to explore Wind Caves and be enthralled by the beauty of King’s room. Then to
Clearwater caves to see the subterranean river passage which at 100 km, form the
longest cave system in South East Asia. Lunch at nearby Clearwater River before
we transfer to resort for overnight. (BL)
Day 3
Transfer to airport for departure flight. (B)
Items to bring : torch light, rain coat,
walking shoes with good grid, water bottle, towel, swim wear, slippers and
insect repellent..

THINGS
YOU SHOULD KNOW

Park regulations are that visits to Wind & Clearwater is
between 9.00am till 12.00pm and visits to Deer & Lang Caves is between
2.00pm till 4.00pm. The Park is very strict on this as this is for the
protection of the caves. Cave lighting will be switched off at the
prescribed time schedules.

Clients are to be
advised that camera/video fees are to be reported during registration at
the park HQ and to be paid directly to the park. Current fees are at
RM5.00 per camera and RM10.00 per video camera. Permit for filming
equipment and filming requirements will have to be applied prior to
arrival.

Recommended film for cave picture taking is AS400.

You will need good walking shoes with good grip (tends to be
slippery especially after rain), light clothing, hat, insect repellent,
torch, swim wear, small backpack/sling pack to put in your things.

For transfers to the resort from airport, may be switched to van
transfer (5 minutes) if it is raining or if water level is too low and
journey may take much longer.

Journey involves many longboat trips and on occasion may require
assistance by the guide and boat driver to help push the boat for some
part of the river rides when water level is lower than normal.

It
is compulsory that life jackets (provided in the boats) be worn at all
times during river trips

Aircraft is a twin otter 19- seater by MAS or Vision Air

Clients are advised to travel light and to take only what is
required in a small bag in view of weight restrictions. Only 10 kg per
pax is allowed. On transit in Miri, Seridan Mulu will meet and collect
big luggage to be stored in Miri. Luggage will be returned upon arrival
back to Miri to meet pax, verify luggage and assist with check-in for
onward journey (this service is available in Miri by Seridan Mulu and can
be arranged for in Kota Kinabalu if need be but will be chargeable for
cargo and service handling).

Charter flights are available from Miri for Mulu and the highlands.
Charter fees are subject to time of request and pending sectors.
