From the mighty
Victoria Falls to the animal and bush wonders of Botswana. Following is Namibia
where we take in the world renowned Etosha National Park, Cape Cross Seal
breeding colony, magnificent scenery that northern Namibia has to offer, and the
adventures of Swakopmund before ending this memorable safari in the heart of
Namibia, Windhoek.
This trip begins in
Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and travels south through Botswana and Namibia before
ending in Swakopmund, Namibia.
This trip departs from
Victoria Falls on Sunday morning. Should you wish to explore Victoria Falls, an
earlier arrival should be planned and accommodation booked.

DAY 1: Victoria Falls
Today is spent relaxing
or participating in a myriad of Optional Excursions. AT 1700 metres wide and
around 100 metres high, Victoria Falls are one of the most memorable sights on
this African safari. All year round, flights can be taken in fixed wing planes,
micro lights or helicopters. Back on the ground, the falls can be seen from the
Victoria Falls National Park with its many viewing points or from the Zambian
side. All offer fantastic photographic opportunities.
White water rafting in
the Batoka Gorge is considered to be world class. Besides the excitement of the
grade 5 rapids, there are the "floats", where there is time to admire the scenic
cliffs and occasional wildlife on the riverbanks.
OPTIONAL
Excursions include trips into the Zambezi or Hwange National Parks, elephant
back safaris, horse back safaris, a visit to the crocodile ranch, boat cruises
and golf at The Elephant Hills Resort. Adrenalin junkies can bungee from the
Victoria Falls Bridge connecting Zimbabwe and Zambia or abseil down the Batoka
Gorge - neither activity is for the faint hearted! All year round, flights in
fixed wing, micro light and ultra light aircraft or helicopters provide an
aerial perspective over this magnificent World Heritage Site. White water
rafting on the Zambezi is world class. Beside the excitement of the Grade 5
rapids, there are the "floats," where there is time to admire the scenic cliffs
and the occasional wildlife on the riverbanks.
DAY 2: Victoria Falls to
Chobe National Park (Botswana)

After breakfast we cross
the border into Botswana and head to Kasane where we set up camp on the banks of
the Chobe River. Listen out for the resident hippos! The Chobe River forms a
border between Botswana and Namibia and Zambia. This National Park is one of
Botswana’s premier game parks, renowned for its large elephant herds.
For the adventurous
spirits, there is the option for the Chobe National Park Sleep-out – an
overnight experience in the Chobe National park. Spend the afternoon in search
of wildlife en-route to the set camp within the park where we spend the evening
surrounded by the night-time noises of the local wildlife. In the morning we
continue our exploration and after stopping off at the camp for lunch, we meet
the rest of the group for the sunset boat cruise
DAY 3: Chobe National
Park (B

For those not on the
Sleep-out, today offers the option of an early morning game drive in the Chobe
National Park. An early start sees us spend the morning observing the large
herds of wildlife After our game drive we return to camp for lunch. The late
afternoon sees us take a boat cruise along the Chobe River. Elephant, hippo and
many bird species can be viewed from the boat while we watch another glorious
African sunset.
DAY 4: Chobe National
Park to Maun
(B / L / D)
Today we travel in a
south-westerly direction to the southern reaches of the Okavango Delta and our
destination, Maun. It is from here that we set off to explore the Okavango
Delta.
DAY5: Maun to Okavango
Delta (OPTIONAL)
(B / L / D)
The Delta is a huge
expanse of water, which has travelled from the Angolan highlands, spreading out
to form the largest inland delta in the world. Studded with exotic islands, The
Delta is renowned for its incredible variety of bird life and animals and is
unique to Southern Africa.
Here we have the
opportunity to take the optional 3 Day / 2 Night Drive In/Mokoro Excursion into
the Delta. From Maun we drive north for a couple of hours to reach the mokoro
poler’s station. Mokoros are traditional dug out canoes manoeuvred through
the waterways by local guides who “pole” them through the reeds. After our
guides find us a place to camp, we set off on an afternoon game walk, allowing
us to experience The Delta wilderness.
For those who’d prefer
not to explore The Delta, you can stay at the lovely campsite relaxing by the
swimming pool or challenging each other to a game of volleyball. There is also a
crocodile farm nearby that has it’s feeding times open to campsite visitors.
DAY 6: Okavango Delta

A day of rest, relaxation
and Delta experiences await. Today we have the opportunity to partake in a
number of activities including swimming (dependant on area & water levels), game
walks, mokoro cruises and even a chance to try our hands at poling our own
mokoro!
DAY 7: Okavango Delta to
Maun (B
/ L / D)
This morning affords us a
final opportunity for a game walk before packing up and setting off back to
Maun. We arrive back in the early afternoon and have the chance to complete our
picture of the Okavango Delta by taking an optional sunset scenic flight over
The Delta.
DAY 8: Maun to Rundu
(Namibia)

Following the Kavango
River, we enter Northern Namibia. We stop at Rundu for supplies before heading
to our spectacular campsite located on the banks of the Kavango River - complete
with “open air” facilities and the occasional hippo grazing on the lawn!
DAY 9: Rundu to Etosha
National Park
(B / L / D)
From Rundu, we head
towards Etosha National Park. Covering 20 000 km2, Etosha is
Namibia’s premier nature reserve. Situated around the Etosha Pan with a wide
variety of animal and bird life, the extensive network of gravel roads affords
us the opportunity of accessing even the most remote areas of the park.
DAY 10: Etosha National
Park (B

Today we make our way 150
km across the park, keeping a look out for Etosha’s large herds of desert
antelope such as Springbok and the famed Oryx. After a full day of game
viewing, we spend the evening relaxing at our camp.
DAY 11: Etosha National
Park to Cheetah Park
(B / L / D)
Today’s drive is to the
Cheetah Park - a private farm dedicated to conserving Namibia’s cheetah
population. We get to meet the resident cheetahs, a photo opportunity not to be
missed!
DAY 12: Cheetah Park to
Spitzkoppe
(B / L / D)
Our departure from the
Cheetah Park takes us to the ‘Matterhorn of Namibia’ - Spitzkoppe. The 1728 m
high rock formation, one of Namibia’s most recognised landmarks, is well known
as an ancient San sacred site. Explore the surrounding area and its San rock
paintings. Tonight we bush camp under the African stars.
DAY 13: Spitzkoppe to
Swakopmund
(B / L)
Today we head for
Swakopmund. Founded by the Germans in 1892, their colonial influence is still
evident today. Swakopmund has a selection of excellent coffee shops,
restaurants & bars as well as many arts and crafts shops selling Namibian
curios. There are fine beaches to walk along as well as a great museum,
aquarium and galleries to visit. Accommodation will be in dormitories.
Upgrades are possible, but depend on room availability.
DAYS 14: Swakopmund
(B)
After breakfast, we
exchange addresses and part ways, having just experienced a trip of a lifetime!
OPTIONAL
excursions include sky diving, quad biking, sand boarding, scenic desert
flights, dolphin cruises, fishing trips, golf, horse riding and more. An
activity briefing will be held on arrival in Swakopmund.

Outjo to get supplies, we head to Etosha. Covering 20 000 km2,
Etosha is Namibia’s premier nature reserve. Situated around the Etosha Pan with
a large variety of animal and bird life, the extensive network of gravel roads
affords us the opportunity of accessing even the most remote areas of the park.
We spend the remainder of the day exploring the park’s southern area.
DAY 5: Etosha National

Today we make our way 150

Zimbabwe and drive to the nearby Victoria Falls. Here in Africa’s adventure
capital, we set up camp in the town’s centrally located campsite. Victoria
Falls or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders) is one of the Seven Natural
Wonders of the World and it’s not difficult to see why. At 1700 m wide and
around 100 m high, this is the world's largest sheet of falling water and a
memorable sight on any African Safari! The Falls can be viewed from the
Victoria Falls National Park, Zimbabwe - a fantastic photo opportunity. The
afternoon is spent relaxing at the campsite’s swimming pool or exploring the
many sights and delights of this town!

This trip starts
in Victoria Falls and travels through Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia finishing

DAYS 01: Victoria Falls
The Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most
spectacular natural wonders of the world. 1700 metres wide and around 100
metres high, this is the world's largest sheet of falling water and a memorable
sight of any African Safari. All year round, flights can be taken in a fixed
wing aircraft, micro lights, ultra lights or helicopters. On the ground, the
fall can be seen from the Victoria Falls National Park with its many viewing
points, or from the Zambian side. Each offers fantastic photographic
opportunities.
White water rafting on the Zambezi is
considered to be world class. Besides the excitement of the Grade 5 rapids,
there are the "floats" where there is time to admire the scenic cliffs and the
occasional wildlife on the riverbanks.
Bungi jumping enthusiasts can take the plunge
from the Zambezi Bridge, which connects Zimbabwe and Zambia. There is also the
option abseil in the Batoka Gorge, neither activities are for the feint hearted!

DAYS 02:
Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park
This morning we depart Victoria Falls after
breakfast and cross the border of Zimbabwe into Botswana. We set up camp for the
night. The rest of the day is spent exploring the area and relaxing on the banks
of the Chobe River. Chobe is one of Botswana’s premier game parks, renowned for
the large herds of elephant around the Chobe River. (B,L,D)
DAYS 03: Chobe National Park
This morning you have the option to do
an early-morning game drive into Chobe National Park. Chobe is one of Botswana’s
premier game parks, renowned for the large herds of elephant around the Chobe
River. After our game drive we return to camp for lunch. Late afternoon we take
a boat cruise along the Chobe River. Elephant, hippo and many bird species can
be viewed from the boat while we watch the renowned Chobe sunset. (B, L, D)
DAYS 04: Chobe National Park to Maun
Today we travel in a south-westerly direction
to Maun, our base camp before we start our Optional Excursion into the
Okavango Delta. Today is a long day’s drive with lunch on the roadside. (B,L,D)
The Delta is a huge expanse of water, which
has travelled from the Angolan highlands, spreading out to form the largest
inland Delta in the World.
Studded with exotic islands, the Delta is
renowned for its incredible variety of bird life as well as many other animals
unique to Southern Africa.
DAY 05:
Okavango Delta
Here you have the opportunity to take the
optional 3 day / 2 night excursions into the Delta. With this excursion we
travel approximately 1-2 hours north to the Mokoro polers station. From there we
hire mokoros, the local dug out canoes, which are poled by local guides through
the winding waterways. Your guides will select a place to set up camp. An
afternoon game walk will allow you to experience the Delta wilderness. (B,L,D)
DAY 06:
Okavango Delta
A day of rest, relaxation and Delta
experiences await. Today you will have the opportunity to partake in a number of
activities including game walks, mokoro cruises, swimming and even a chance to
try your hand at poling your own mokoro! (B,L,D)
DAYS 07: Okavango Delta to Maun
There is a
final opportunity for a morning game walk before packing up camp and setting off
back to Maun. After arriving back in the early afternoon you have the
opportunity to complete your picture of the Okavango Delta by taking an
optional
sunset scenic flight over the Delta region (US$55+ dependant upon numbers).

DAYS 08: Maun
to Rundu:
Departing Maun
we head in a south west direction along the Kavango River and enter Namibia in
the Northern region. We stock up our supplies in Rundu before reaching our
campsite for the night. This
campsite is spectacular and located right on the banks of the Kavango River
complete with “open air” facilities and the occasional hippo grazing on the
lawn. (B,L,D)
DAY 09: Rundu to Etosha (Namutoni)
Today we arrive at Etosha National Park in the
late afternoon. Etosha is the major nature reserve of Namibia, covering over 20
000 square kilometres with a large variety of animal and bird species. The park
is situated around the Etosha Pan, and has an extensive network of gravel roads
that enable us to get to remote areas of the park. A feature of the park is the
floodlit water holes at both Namutoni and Okakuejo. Evenings can be spent
sitting on the specially constructed viewing benches watching the game as it
comes in to drink. (B,L,D)
DAY 10: Etosha (Okaukuejo)
Another full day of game driving as we make
our way across 150kms of the park from east to west. Tonight you have another
opportunity to spend at leisure around the fantastic floodlit waterholes.

DAY 11: Etosha to Cheetah Park
A short drive take us to the Cheetah Park, a
private farm where you will learn about the conservation of the cheetah
population in Namibia and have a chance to meet the resident cheetah's up at the
house. A photo opportunity not to be missed! (B,L,D)
DAY 12: Cheetah Park to
Spitzkoppe
A days drive takes us to Spizkoppe, the 1728m
high rock formation, one of Namibia’s most recognised landmarks. There is
opportunity to explore the bushman paintings and surrounding area. A night
camping under the stars is a must here! . (B,L,D)
DAY 13:
Spitzkoppe to Swakopmund
We follow the Atlantic Coast south to visit
the Cape Cross Seal Colony. Of the 23 breeding colonies of Cape Fur Seals along
the coast of South Africa and Namibia, Cape Cross is the largest. Seals are
present through out the year and numbers fluctuate between 80 000 and 100 000
individuals, rising to around 200 000 during the breeding season. It was here
that the Portuguese navigator, Diego Cao, erected a stone cross in 1846,
becoming the first European to set foot on the coast of Namibia. We arrive in
Swakopmund later afternoon. (B,L)
DAYS 14 & 15: Swakopmund
Founded in 1892
during the German colonial rule, the distinct colonial character has been well
preserved. Swakopmund has several excellent restaurants, bars, coffee shops as
well as many arts and crafts shops selling Namibian rural art. There are fine
beaches to walk along as well as a great museum, aquarium and galleries to
visit.
Optional
excursions include fishing trips, quad biking, sand boarding, skydiving, desert
flights, water sports, golf and 4WD hire. Accommodation will be in dormitories.
Upgrades are obtainable but depend on availability.

DAY 16:
Swakopmund to Windhoek
Today is an easy one as we board a coach for
the drive to Windhoek where the tours end.

Windhoek to Victoria Falls
(Trip Code: WV16 Departure dates)
From the capital
city of Namibia - Windhoek, you travel to meet the tour in the adrenalin town of
Swakopmund. Try your hand at skydiving, sand boarding, quad biking or simply
watching life go by African style with the Namib Desert as your backdrop. Enjoy
the sight of some of the worlds’ largest sand dunes and take in the magnificent
Etosha Pan scenery and game. We visit the bush wonders of Botswana before
arriving at the mighty Victoria Falls, where you end this adventure filled tour.
This trip starts
in Windhoek, Namibia and travels north through Namibia and Botswana finishing in
Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
Please note that this trip starts on Friday
and departs the same day. Should you wish to spend extra time there an earlier
arrival should be planned and additional accommodation booked.

DAYS 01:
Windhoek to Swakopmund:
After boarding
your early morning coach in Windhoek, it will be an easy start to your journey
to the adventure centre of Namibia, Swakopmund. On arrival you will be met and
transferred to your hotel.
DAYS 02 & 03:
Swakopmund
Founded in 1892 during the German colonial
rule, the distinct colonial character has been well preserved. Swakopmund has
several excellent restaurants, bars, coffee shops as well as many arts and
crafts shops selling Namibian rural art. There are fine beaches to walk along as
well as a great museum, aquarium and galleries to visit.
Optional
excursions include fishing trips, quad biking, sand boarding, skydiving, desert
flights, watersports, golf and 4WD hire. (B included both days)
DAY 04:
Swakopmund to Spitzkoppe
Our departure from Swakopmund will see us
follow the Atlantic Coast north to visit the Cape Cross Seal Colony. Of the 23
breeding colonies of Cape Fur Seals along the coast of South Africa and Namibia,
Cape Cross is the largest. Seals are present through out the year and numbers
fluctuate between 80 000 and 100 000 individuals, rising to around 200 000
during the breeding season. A short drive takes us to Spizkoppe, the 1728m high
rock formation, one of Namibia’s most recognised landmarks. There is opportunity
to explore the bushman paintings and surrounding area. (B, L, D)
DAY 05:
Spitzkoppe to Cheetah Park
Today is a day’s drive from the rock paintings
to the Cheetah Park, a private farm where you will learn about the conservation
of the cheetah population in Namibia and have a chance to meet the resident
cheetah's up at the house. A photo opportunity not to be missed! (B,L,D)
DAY 06:
Cheetah Park to Okaukuejo, Etosha National Park
Stopping briefly in Outjo to get supplies,
then it is on to Etosha. We will game drive our way into Okaukuejo rest camp
before setting up camp and heading out for an afternoon game drive. Etosha is
the major nature reserve of Namibia, covering over 20 000 square kilometres with
a large variety of animal and bird species. The park is situated around the
Etosha Pan, and has an extensive network of gravel roads that enable us to get
to remote areas of the park. A feature of the park is the floodlit water holes
at both Okakuejo and Namutoni. Evenings can be spent sitting on the specially
constructed viewing benches watching the game as it comes in to drink. (B,L,D)
DAY 07:
Etosha National Park – Okaukuejo to Namutoni
Another full day
of game driving as we make our way the 150kms across the park form west to east.
After a full day of game driving you will then have another opportunity to spend
the evening watching the game at Namutoni's floodlit waterhole. (B,L,D)
DAY 08:
Namutoni, Etosha National Park to Rundu
Departing Etosha, we head in a northeasterly
direction towards the lush Kavango region of northern Namibia. We will stop at
Rundu for supplies before reaching our nearby campsite. This campsite is
spectacular and located right on the banks of the Kavango River complete with
“open air” facilities and the occasional hippo grazing on the lawn. (B,L,D)
DAY 09: Rundu
to Maun (Botswana)
Continuing along the Kavango River, we enter
Botswana and travel east along the course of the Okavango River to the southern
reaches of the Okavango Delta and our destination of Maun. It is from here that
we set off to explore the Okavango Delta. (B,L,D)
DAY 10: Maun
to Okavango Delta (Optional)
The Delta is a huge expanse of water, which
has travelled from the Angolan highlands, spreading out to form the largest
inland Delta in the World.
Studded with exotic islands, the Delta is
renowned for its incredible variety of bird life as well as many other animals
unique to Southern Africa.
Here you have the opportunity to take the
optional 3 day / 2 night excursions into the Delta. This is the drive in
Mokoro excursion. (B,L,D)
This drive in trip to the Okavango Delta takes
us approximately 1-2 hours north to the Mokoro polers station. From there we
hire mokoros, the local dug out canoes, which are poled by local guides through
the winding waterways. Your guides will select a place to set up camp. An
afternoon game walk will allow you to experience the Delta wilderness.
DAY 11:
Okavango Delta
A day of rest, relaxation and Delta
experiences await. Today you will have the opportunity to partake in a number of
activities including game walks, mokoro cruises, swimming and even a chance to
try your hand at poling your own mokoro! (B,L,D)
DAY 12:
Okavango Delta to Maun
A final
opportunity for a morning game walk before packing up camp and setting off back
to Maun. After arriving back in the early afternoon you have the opportunity to
complete your picture of the Okavango Delta by taking an
optional
sunset scenic flight over the Delta region. (B,L,D)
DAY 13: Maun
to Chobe National Park
We travel east and then north through Botswana
to the town of Kasane where we set up camp on the banks of the Chobe River. The
Chobe River forms a border between Botswana and Namibia as well as Botswana and
Zambia. Listen out for the resident hippos! (B,L,D)
DAY 14: Chobe
National Park
This morning you have the option to do
an early-morning game drive into Chobe National Park. Chobe is one of Botswana’s
premier game parks, renowned for the large herds of elephant around the Chobe
River. After our game drive we return to camp for lunch. Late afternoon we take
a boat cruise along the Chobe River. Elephant, hippo and many bird species can
be viewed from the boat while we watch the renowned Chobe sunset. (B, L, D)
DAY 15: Vic Falls
We pack up camp and depart for our final
destination, Victoria Falls. Leaving Botswana we enter Zimbabwe and drive to the
nearby Victoria Falls where we set up camp in the municipal town campsite.
Afternoon at leisure to explore the many sights and delights of this town!
(Brunch)
The Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most
spectacular natural wonders of the world. 1700 metres wide and around a 100
metres high, this is the world's largest sheet of falling water and a memorable
sight of any African Safari. All year round, flights can be taken in either
fixed wing aircraft, micro lights, ultra lights or helicopters. On the ground,
the Falls can be seen from the Victoria Falls National Park with its many
viewing points, or from the Zambian side. Each offers fantastic photographic
opportunities.
White water rafting on the Zambezi is
considered to be world class. Besides the excitement of the Grade 5 rapids,
there are the "floats" where there is time to admire the scenic cliffs and the
occasional wildlife on the riverbanks.
Bungi jumping
enthusiasts can take the plunge from the Zambezi Bridge, which connects Zimbabwe
and Zambia. There is also the option abseil in the Batoka Gorge, neither
activities are for the feint hearted!
The other optional
activities around Victoria Falls include trips into the Zambezi or Hwange
National Parks, horse riding, a visit to the crocodile ranch, golf at Elephant
Hills Hotel, parachuting, elephant safaris, the Falls craft village and the
sunset cruise.

Victoria Falls
Tour ends with breakfast this morning. (B)
